Pakistan is democratic country with an elected parliament, an independent judiciary, a free media and a vibrant civil society. Together, these provide safeguards for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms of all citizens of Pakistan. These rights are guaranteed by the Constitution and protected by a robust legal framework.
