The second meeting of the Sub-Committee, formed under the National Task Force, was successfully held at the Ministry of Human Rights. Chaired by Barrister Aqeel Malik, MNA, the meeting discussed various initiatives to enhance Pakistan’s ranking in the Global Gender Gap Index (GGGI). Key updates were shared on protecting women’s rights, gender-based violence prevention, and improving representation in education, political & economic empowerment and health. Important insights were provided by National Commission on the Status of Women, Islamabad (NCSW) on Pakistan’s performance across key gender indicators. It was noted that strengthening women-focused commissions/departments and initiatives at both the federal and provincial levels remains crucial.
