Fourth Meeting of Inter-Ministerial & Inter-Provincial Steering Committee on Implementation of National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP-BHR) was held under the chair of Federal Secretary for Human Rights, Mr. Allah Dino Khowaja on 30th April 2024. The meeting was attended by senior officers from Federal Ministries, Provincial Departments and private stakeholders including representatives of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Overseas Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Pakistan Workers Federation. The Committee discussed implementation of NAP-BHR since its approval by the Federal Cabinet in September 2021. The Committee stressed the importance of implementation of action points related to social inclusion and elimination of gender disparity in Pakistan’s business sector as well as introducing human rights due diligence framework in the country. The Committee decided to make parallel provincial mechanisms on implementation of NAP-BHR fully functional to ensure timely implementation of these action points. The meeting concluded with a resolve to fully implement the Action Plan and timely sharing of information with the Ministry of Human Rights.
